This was shared with me by a co-worker. Kind of turns around how we use these words.
Matt Taibbi really nails it on the head!
Awareness of our mortality brings discomfort. We cannot control our ultimate fate.

It slowly began to dawn on Esther and Bruce Huffman that perhaps they were being filmed. "Warning," the gray-haired, bespeckled grandmother reads off the screen. "You must stop recording before trying to close cyber link." Here's the youtube video.
At Newsvine, we feel strongly that an article’s life only begins the second it is published. It is only when readers interact with it that it achieves its full impact.
Now it would appear that this wheelbarrow has seen better days. I would say that it's life is just beginning. This is one of my many tools that I use to toil around the yard and garden. It's my favorite tool. Is it because it's so well used? Is it b …

Here's what I'm focused on this week. The artichoke is doing ok. I'm growing that more as a hobby than for anything else. The Big Beef Tomato has a couple of little balls on it. The two in the middle have been hanging on like that for a couple o …

Here's a few of the edibles that I have growing. The asparagus is doing quite well. I haven't tried growing it until now. They will stay in pots until next spring when they will go into their own little bed. The strawberries are very prolific this y …

Women with full-time jobs now make 78.2 percent of what men earn, up from about 64 percent in 2000. Unemployment for men currently stands at 9.3 percent compared to 8.3 percent for women, who now make up half of the U.S. workforce
I don’t speak very often of my experience as a teen mother, but there has been a lot of media coverage over the last couple of years regarding teen pregnancy and thought I would share my experiences to those of the thousands of young women out there who have found themselve …

The other day while working, a regular customer of mine, began a conversation about his thoughts on engaging children in education. He’s a retired middle school teacher and a father so his thoughts on the subject would be very relevant.

This is the latest news report on the lawsuit concerning increasing the House of Representatives. Sadly, the Supreme Court declined to hear the case. But at least people are talking about it. I, for one, will not let this subject turn to dust. How about you?
Hi everyone! I'm looking for advise. I hope I can draw on everyone's collective wisdom to help nudge me in the right direction.

"On Thursday, House Republican leaders announced that Representative Ron Paul of Texas, the outspoken Republican libertarian who ran for president in 2008, will become the chairman of the subcommittee that oversees the Fed."
Increasing the retirement age and reducing the payroll deduction does nothing but ensure that the people supplying the labor in this country will become more subservient to the corporatists than ever before.
I appreciate Mr. Clinton's opinion on the tax bill, but shouldn't this message have been served entirely by the President? And then to leave as the media began asking questions. It seems that President Obama is relieving himself of the responsibility that is his, and his alone.
Recently Socrates1 challenged me to discredit the claims of his article "Is Socialism A Great Leap Backward?” Initially I was disinterested in doing so but after closely reviewing his work I found myself responding to certain points which I had not previously thought I wo …

Hi Leona, I enjoy reading your posts as well; you are thoughtful and honest about what you post! For monetary issues related to the Fed, national debt, fiat currencies, and International reserve currency, one of the best authorities is Ron Paul. Ron is about 80 years old, his son just won a senate race in Kentucky. Ron is one of those people that hasn't budged an inch in his opinions since the early 80's, and even though he is a Republican, neither party, (I should say both parties), fear him because he makes public the real agenda of our political leaders.
Another web site is infowars.com; however this guy Alex Jones is a fear merchant cashing in on the emotions of the hysteria surrounding many issues. What is good about this site are the articles that his site posts for reference. Many come from the AP, or European and Asian media sources, which will give you a real perspective from an amalgam of opinion; instead of the daily right versus left debate that we seem to be subjected to.
Lastly, I have gone back and began reading many of Thomas Jefferson's writings; he especially feared that America would lose its sovereignty not by invading army, but by foreign bankers and the establishment of a National Bank, (which is the Fed).
Good Luck with your reading, I wish I would have had the wisdom to read and have interest in knowledge as a younger person, I have wasted my youth discussing things and people, not ideas.
Famous quote - Small minds discuss people, average minds discuss things, great minds discuss ideas!
